Hello, I am Sofia
Project manager, parent, and expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t in the grand plan. Like many international relocations, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new processes, new routines, new expectations. Daily chores felt more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning on the fly. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began forming something that felt stable.
Why I Built Beacon Ridge Works
Most online info was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourist content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Represents (And What It Isn’t)
This Site Includes:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a meaningful change occurs
This Site Does Not Claim:
- Not a tourism board resource
- A paid-review platform
- A generic travel journal
Looking Forward
Our stay in Spain continues, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sofia
